Powerful Music, Powerful Transformation.
Powerful Lyrics, Powerful Inspiration.
Turning the Spotlight on a New Dimension
of the Power of Christian Music!
Every day people are touched by the sounds around us-from the
sounds of the early morning birds and the daily traffic grind
to the train passing by in the distance and young children playing
in the yard at sunset. One harmony though can grab you from the
here and now and speak right to you: the power of Christian music.
The Power of Christian Music, from Standard Publishing,
is a new series that will not only help individuals see God's
Word in the lyrics of Christian music but also shares true stories
from real people who have felt God's Word through its power!
According to Changed
co-author Ginny McCabe, "The reason Christian music is so
powerful is that Scripture talks about singing praises and reflecting
on the power of music. The same is true in our everyday lives
when we are listening to Christian music on a CD or radiothe
lyrics and music speak to us in unexpected, life-altering ways."
How many times has it happened?
A person needs a distraction from the here and now and hits a
button on the radio, CD player, or MP3 player. Every once
in a while a particular song strikes a chord with that individualthe
beat, the lyrics, the voice of the singer and something changes
for that person. Millions of people across the world are listening
to Christian music more and more each day and experiencing incredible
transformations through its influence. Changed (Standard
Publishing, Hard cover, $14.99), the first book in the series,
is a collection of true stories from real people who have experienced
God's power in their lives through listening to Christian music.
Changed includes stories from people who have been transformed
through the influence of the music of artists including Amy Grant,
Michael W. Smith, Audio Adrenaline, and many more.
People read the Bible and
find that the words resonate with them and the same can be said
about the lyrics to some of the most meaningful songs. Sometimes
it seems like God is speaking directly to them through the lyrics
of a song. Well, He is! Be Thou My Vision (Standard Publishing,
Hard cover, $14.99), the second book in the series, is a devotional
journal that echoes God's Word with the lyrics of popular Christian
music. It allows one to reflect on what God is saying through
His Word and the lyrics from favorite Christian artists like
David Crowder, Casting Crowns, Third Day, Steven Curtis Chapman,
and so many more.
Since 1866, Standard Publishing's
mission has been to provide true-to-the-Bible resources that
inspire, educate, and motivate Christians to a growing relationship
with Jesus Christ. Based in Cincinnati, Ohio, Standard Publishing
creates a wide array of Christian products-from Sunday school
curriculum and church supplies to children's Bible storybooks
and parenting books for adults. Standard Publishing can be found
on the Web at www.standardpub.com.
